Missionaries Without Boundaries /  Nathan Lloyd-Jones – January 2011

169024_10150365905025427_528765426_16873811_5837330_n copyAs I sat in church this past Wednesday, I read an intimate letter from the apostle Paul, God opened my eyes and gave me a picture of what this letter really meant. I saw Paul as my leader and brother. He wrote these words right before he died for his faith. As I read this letter I realized the seriousness of his situation. This would be the last time he ever wrote to me. I cried and I asked God to give me courage like him. 169024_10150365905025427_528765426_16873811_5837330_n copySome of you may have read this letter before but I will write a little of it here. “My time has come to go to my real home. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Now I will receive the crown of righteousness that God, the righteous judge, will give to me, and not only to me, but to everyone who has longed for his appearing.” What a powerful statement: I have fought, finished and kept the faith. That is what I want to live for everyday. To be able to say this phrase constantly. I want to be able to write this to my son when my time comes to go home. I want this to be said of me long after I am gone.

2010 has been an excellent year. It was far from perfect, but by the grace of God I have grown in every way. Even in ways that I had no idea I needed to grow in. This Christmas season has been full of gifts from God. The first was Evelyn Noelle Lloyd-Jones, our second child, born December 2. She is the best gift we could ever ask for. Second, in the beginning of November, we had to fly Rebecca to the city because of intense lower chest pains, which we found out were gall stones. We were very low on money, but God provided for everything.  His hand was so close to Rebecca and I, we knew that whatever happened, we would be fine.  It was a time of intense trying of our faith, but we never lost the peace of God.  I don’t have time to explain all the miracles that happened while we were there, but our God is such an all sufficient God.  Third, I found out while we were in the city that my two greatest disciples and friends from Palacios would not be in Palacios in the upcoming year. I was very sad because there were many things I had wanted to say to them before they left. I cried and prayed for one last opportunity to teach them, which God granted.  One of them came to stay with us while we were in the city, and the other ended up having to stay an extra month in Palacios.  I got much time to teach, train and challenge one last time.  I am very proud to say they are my disciples.

Fourth, because we had to stay in the city for over a month, I was feeling a little overwhelmed with the amount of work that would have to be done once we got back. The day we were leaving a friend from the states called me and asked if he could come help out for a few weeks.  I asked when and he said, maybe tomorrow.  He rode out with us to Palacios and was an amazing blessing.

I could go on to the 5th blessing and then to a 6th and on to the 50th… but for your sakes, I will stop here.

We are looking forward to the upcoming year. There will be many new things happening.  Rebecca and I are setting goals, and writing our vision together. We are still praying and looking for a kindergarten teacher. Please, if you know anyone who might be interested let us know. We love you all so much and we cannot express our gratefulness and the blessing you all are to our family. Thank you so much,
– Nathan
